Associated Home Care Partners with Montachusett Home Care for Supportive Housing Site
In December of 2014, Associated Home Care was honored to be asked to partner with Montachusett Home Care and the Leominster Housing Authority to provide Supportive Housing Services at Spruce Street in Leominster.
Supportive Housing is a specialized program funded by the Executive Office of Elder Affairs to provide a higher level of in –home care to residents of a particular housing authority site.
The program provides 24 hour staffing of personal care homemakers to provide assistance to include personal care needs, laundry, meal prep, grocery shopping, medication pick up and much more. These services are provided on a scheduled basis or can also be provided when the need arises unexpectedly. A meal program is also available on site.
The program is supervised by an on-site coordinator 20 hours per week by MHCC and AHC provides supervision by a nurse as well as a dedicated scheduler. AHC currently has aides available 24 hours per day 7 days per week to service its 22 clients and to be available to the other residents in the building as needs arise. AHC also participates in activities at the site to include Friday breakfast socials, monthly resident act ivies and a monthly blood pressure clinic.
AHC, Montachuesett and the Leominster Housing authority have worked collaboratively over the past few months to launch the program and by all accounts the clients, residents and staff are happy with the results. AHC is extremely proud to be participating in this program.
